Rules of Baccarat

Baccarat Regulations

Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards in a shoe. Cards of a value less than 10 are said to be worth their printed value and on the other hand ten, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each given a value of 1. Bets are placed on the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual persons; they just depict the two hands to be given out).

Two hands of two cards will now be played to the ‘banker’ … ‘player’. The score for any hand shall be the total of the 2 cards, but the 1st digit is dumped. For example, a hand of seven as well as five has a total of two (7plus5=twelve; drop the ‘one’).

A 3rd card can be given depending on the foll. standards:

- If the bettor or banker has a total of eight or nine, each players stand.

- If the gambler has five or lower, he hits. Players stand otherwise.

- If player stands, the banker hits of five or lower. If the player hits, a chart shall be used to see if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The higher of the 2 scores will be the winner. Successful stakes on the banker pay out nineteen to twenty (even money minus a 5% commission. Commission is monitored and moved out when you leave the table so make sure to have funds remaining before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay one to one. Winning bets for tie generally pays 8 to 1 but sometimes 9 to 1. (This is an awful bet as ties occur less than 1 every ten hands. Stay away from placing bets on a tie. Even so odds are far better – nine to 1 vs. eight to 1)

When played accurately, baccarat presents fairly decent odds, apart from the tie bet ofcourse.

Baccarat Strategy

As with just about all games, Baccarat has some established false impressions. 1 of which is similar to a roulette misconception. The past is in no way an indicator of future events. Staying abreast of last results on a chart is definitely a total waste of paper and an insult to the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.

The most accepted and probably most successful tactic is the 1-3-two-6 method. This process is used to build up profits and cutting back risk.

start by betting 1 unit. If you win, add 1 more to the two on the table for a total of 3 on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have 6 on the table, subtract four so you have two on the third gamble. If you win the third bet, add two to the four on the table for a sum of 6 on the 4th bet.

If you don’t win on the 1st wager, you take a loss of one. A win on the first bet followed by loss on the second will create a loss of two. Wins on the first 2 with a loss on the 3rd gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first 3 with a loss on the fourth mean you breakeven. Accomplishing a win on all four bets leaves you with 12, a profit of ten. Thus you can lose the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of four bets and still break even.
