Baccarat Rules

Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards in a shoe. Cards which are valued less than 10 are said to be at their printed value meanwhile ten, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each equal to 1. Wagers are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual players; they strictly depict the two hands to be given out).

Two hands of 2 cards shall then be played to the ‘banker’ … ‘player’. The total for any hand shall be the grand total of the 2 cards, but the first digit is dumped. For example, a hand of 7 and 5 produces a value of two (sevenplusfive=12; drop the ‘1′).

A 3rd card may be given depending on the foll. rules:

- If the player or banker has a value of 8 or 9, each players stand.

- If the player has 5 or lower, he/she hits. Players stand otherwise.

- If gambler stands, the banker hits of 5 or lower. If the player hits, a chart will be used to decide if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The greater of the two scores is the winner. Winning wagers on the banker pay out nineteen to twenty (even odds minus a five % commission. Commission is kept track of and moved out when you leave the table so make sure you have funds remaining before you leave). Bets on the player that end up winning pay one to 1. Winning bets for tie normally pays 8 to one but on occasion 9 to 1. (This is an awful bet as ties will occur lower than 1 every 10 hands. Stay away from placing bets on a tie. Regardless odds are greatly better – 9 to one versus 8 to 1)

When done effectively, baccarat provides relatively good odds, aside from the tie bet ofcourse.

Baccarat Strategy

As with most games, Baccarat has some established myths. 1 of which is very similar to a misconception of roulette. The past is in no way an actual indicator of future happenings. Keeping track of historic outcomes on a chart is undoubtedly a waste of paper and a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.

The most commonly used and probably most successful tactic is the one-three-two-6 method. This schema is used to accentuate payouts and minimizing risk.

Begin by gambling one unit. If you win, add 1 more to the two on the table for a total of 3 on the second bet. If you win you will have six on the table, take away 4 so you have two on the third wager. If you win the third gamble, add two to the four on the table for a grand total of 6 on the fourth bet.

If you lose on the 1st wager, you suck up a loss of 1. A win on the first bet quickly followed by loss on the 2nd will create a loss of 2. Wins on the first two with a loss on the 3rd gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first three with a loss on the 4th mean you breakeven. Winning at all four bets leaves you with twelve, a profit of ten. Therefore that you can get beaten the second bet 5 times for every successful streak of 4 bets and still break even.
