Baccarat Regulations
Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards in a shoe. Cards below a value of ten are said to be at their printed number while ten, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each given a value of 1. Wagers are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual contenders; they simply appear as the 2 hands to be dealt).
Two hands of two cards will then be given out to the ‘banker’ as well as ‘player’. The value for any hand is the grand total of the two cards, but the very first digit is removed. For example, a hand of 7 and five produces a value of 2 (7plus5=12; drop the ‘one’).
A 3rd card may be given depending on the following standards:
- If the gambler or banker has a tally of eight or nine, both gamblers stand.
- If the gambler has five or less, he/she hits. gamblers stand otherwise.
- If bettor stands, the banker hits of five or lower. If the gambler hits, a chart is used in order to ascertain if the banker stands or hits.
Baccarat Odds
The larger of the two scores is the winner. Winning bets on the banker payout nineteen to 20 (even money less a five percent commission. Commission is kept track of and moved out when you leave the table so be sure to have $$$$$ left over before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay one to 1. Winning bets for tie usually pays out at eight to 1 but occasionally 9 to one. (This is not a good bet as ties happen lower than 1 every 10 hands. be cautious of putting money on a tie. Nevertheless odds are noticeably better – 9 to one vs. 8 to one)
When played accurately, baccarat offers generally good odds, apart from the tie wager of course.
Baccarat Strategy
As with every games, Baccarat has some common misconceptions. 1 of which is very similar to a misconception of roulette. The past is not a predictor of future happenings. Keeping track of previous results on a chart is a total waste of paper as well as an insult to the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.
The most popular and possibly most successful tactic is the one-3-2-6 technique. This technique is deployed to build up successes and lowering risk.
start by wagering 1 unit. If you win, add one more to the two on the table for a total of three on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have 6 on the table, clear away four so you have 2 on the 3rd wager. If you win the 3rd bet, add two to the 4 on the table for a sum of six on the fourth bet.
If you don’t win on the initial wager, you take a loss of one. A win on the 1st bet quickly followed by loss on the second creates a loss of two. Wins on the 1st 2 with a loss on the third gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first 3 with a loss on the fourth mean you break even. Arriving at a win on all four bets leaves you with twelve, a profit of 10. Therefore you can lose the second bet 5 times for every successful streak of 4 bets and still break even.
